At VCI Environmental, safety is more than a standard, it’s our foundation. Since 1987, we’ve remained committed to protecting our employees, partners, and communities by fostering a culture of proactive risk management and continual training. We go beyond regulatory compliance to ensure that every worker is equipped, educated, and empowered to stay safe on every job site.

Respiratory Protection Program

Our team works in high-risk environments where respiratory health is critical. VCI implements a comprehensive respiratory safety program that includes:

  • Medical Surveillance
    All employees participate in routine medical assessments—including pulmonary function tests—to identify and address potential respiratory concerns early.

  • Respirator Fit Testing
    Every employee undergoes respirator fit testing to ensure proper and secure wear. Regular re-testing is conducted to reflect any changes in health or physical condition.

  • Training & Education
    Employees receive thorough training on respirator types, correct usage, maintenance, and emergency protocols—empowering them to make informed safety decisions every day.

OSHA Compliance & Safety Training

VCI proudly maintains strict adherence to all OSHA regulations and industry best practices. Our program includes:

  • Ongoing Compliance Monitoring
    We stay up-to-date with regulation changes and implement adjustments as needed to maintain our safety edge.

  • OSHA-Certified Workforce

    • All team members receive OSHA 10-hour safety training as a baseline.

    • All site supervisors are required to complete OSHA 30-hour certification, demonstrating advanced knowledge in safety, risk management, and incident prevention.

    • Annual licensing and refresher training are part of our continuous development process.

Certified Safety Program Leadership

Our OSHA 510-certified Safety Program Director leads the charge in maintaining and updating VCI’s written safety manual. This role oversees all safety protocols across projects and ensures consistency in execution, education, and accountability.

Annual Safety Day

Each year, we host a dedicated Safety Day to bring the entire team together for updates, education, and reinforcement of company-wide safety values. With support from a Local 563 union safety instructor, this event is an opportunity for all employees to refresh their knowledge and stay current with industry best practices.

Daily Jobsite Safety Orientations

Every project at VCI begins with a Daily Safety Orientation, covering:

  • The day’s specific tasks

  • Associated hazards

  • Required protective measures

  • Team-based accountability and safe work habits

This ensures that safety remains top of mind from the first minute on-site.
