LEAD CONTAMINATED SOIL EXCAVATION

VCI has a wide variety of experience in the mitigation of lead dust contamination as well as lead contaminated soil. Dust created by the breakdown of peeling lead-based paint on surfaces inside and on the exteriors of (usually older) buildings is a common type of lead dust contamination that VCI regularly resolves. Many lead dust and soil contamination projects are also concerned with the decontamination of fragments of dispelled lead ammunition at firing ranges. VCI has serviced numerous firing ranges to stabilize high lead concentration levels, including the decontamination of lead dust at the Minneapolis Federal District Courthouse Indoor Firing Range and the Minneapolis Police 4th Precinct Firing Range, as well as a lead-contaminated soil at several outdoor firing ranges. Following the 35W Bridge collapse, VCI was awarded the MnDOT contract to remediate the associated lead-contaminated soil.
